Position: Programme Officer (Voluntary).

Location: Phalombe, Number of Position: 1 Positions (must be based in the district)


Women Alliance Organization(WAO) is a fully registered women led relief and development organisation operating in Phalombe district in Malawi.WAO mission is to save lives, promote self-reliance and dignity through human transformation going beyond relief and development and working together for sustainable change. And we envision to seeing a transformed society build on love, justice and peace in which citizens live respect and care for the individual’s integrity and have opportunities to develop themselves’’. In order to achieve our goal, would like to engage services of young women and girls to assist in the implementation of organisation’s core programmes activities in order to achieve our goal.

Key responsibilities of the Voluntary Programmes Officer

Reporting to the Programmes Manager, the Programme officer will be responsible in leading the implementation of programmes activities, compiling Programme reports, providing technical support to the field officers, conducting monitoring and evaluation activities to programmes activities, representing the Programme Manager in organization meetings and any other duties assigned by the Programme Manager.

Qualifications, Experience and personal attributes required;

  1. MSCE, those with Diploma in Social Work, Development Studies, Public health or bachelor degrees will have added advantages.
  2. Aged between 20 to 30 years.
  3. 1 years’ experience in working in Women led organizations and community based organizations. Those worked or are still working with WAO as internees or volunteers have added advantage.

Position: Finance and Administration Officer(Voluntary)

Location: Phalombe (Head Office), Number of Position:1

Key responsibilities of the Voluntary Finance Officer

The role of the finance and Administration Officer(FAO) will ensure that all financial transactions and documents are properly kept for preparation of incomes, payments and financial reports and coordinate/execute general administrative work which will ensure the smooth running of the Organisation’s operations.

Qualifications, Experience and personal attributes;

1. At least a diploma in accountancy/Financing, those with degree will have added advantage.

2. Age between 20 to 30 years

3. At least with 1-year minimum practical accounting experience
